Designing “Do I qualify?” without pretending certainty

Why responsible job-fit guidance needs multiple signals, visible evidence and hard limits when mandatory requirements are missing.

A percentage can look more certain than the evidence really is.

A vacancy may expose a qualification clearly while experience, professional registration, licence requirements or relevant skills carry equal practical importance. If a scoring system only compares the one easy field, a high percentage can be misleading.

Our design principle became simple: a strong result needs multiple independent signals, and a missing mandatory requirement should materially limit the result.

✓ Qualification✓ Relevant CV skills✓ Career background! Experience requires review✕ Required registration missing
The interface explains the signals behind the result instead of presenting a percentage without context.

What a useful result should communicate

  • What evidence in the saved profile aligns with the advert.
  • Which explicit mandatory requirements appear to be missing.
  • Where the platform cannot compare safely and a human review is required.
  • That the final decision to apply should always use the official vacancy notice.

This is not a hiring probability. It is a decision-support layer that helps a candidate spend attention on vacancies that appear more relevant.
