PathShift (BlockRoute) Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 October 2026

This notice covers BlockRoute's offline puzzle game and its optional online Weekly Arena.

Who operates BlockRoute

BlockRoute: Clear the Path is developed and published by Bespoke Software Solutions (BSSZA), South Africa. For privacy enquiries, questions about your information or requests for data deletion, contact info@bssza.co.za.

Offline gameplay and saved data

You can play the main campaign without creating an account or connecting to the internet. BlockRoute saves game progress on your device so you can continue playing later. This can include completed and unlocked levels, coins and rewards, achievements or badges, daily challenges, weekly personal challenge progress, selected themes, sound and vibration settings, and other gameplay preferences.

These offline saves are stored in the app's private device storage and are not automatically uploaded to BSSZA's Arena service. Depending on your Android settings, device backup and restore services may separately back up app data.

Optional online Weekly Arena

If the online Weekly Arena is available and you choose to register a guest Arena profile, the game sends the information needed to run the competition to BSSZA's online service through an encrypted connection. The information processed includes:

Public username and leaderboard: your chosen Arena handle, verified scores, move counts, elapsed time and weekly rankings. Your handle and ranked results may be visible to other players.

Profile authentication and gameplay: a randomly generated guest access credential stored on your device. The online service keeps a protected, one-way representation of this credential rather than the original credential. The service also processes attempt/session identifiers, timing information and sequences of attempted moves to validate scores and reduce cheating.

Security and moderation: an identifier derived from the IP address used to connect to the Arena, together with registration time, to limit excessive registrations and prevent abuse. This identifier is stored in a form designed not to reveal the original IP address. If players report inappropriate public handles, the service stores account references, report category and report time for moderation.

Registration does not require a real name, email address, phone number or access to your contacts. Please do not put personal details in your public username. If the Arena is not configured or is unavailable, the offline game remains playable.

Why this information is used and who can see it

Local saves support your progress and preferences. Arena information is used to operate the optional leaderboard, authenticate guest profiles, verify results, prevent misuse and review reports. Other Arena players can see public handles and leaderboard results.

BSSZA uses external hosting and infrastructure providers to deliver and protect the optional Arena. These providers may process technical information on our behalf where necessary to operate, maintain and secure the service. BSSZA does not sell BlockRoute player information or use it for targeted advertising. The Android game does not intentionally include advertising or third-party analytics and tracking tools.

Security and permissions

The optional Arena uses encrypted connections and access controls designed to protect player information. Guest access credentials remain on the device, while the online service keeps the information necessary to verify access and applies measures to prevent misuse. No online system can guarantee absolute security.

The Android app requests internet access for online Arena functionality. It does not intentionally request camera, microphone, contacts or precise location permissions. Basic diagnostic information may be recorded locally by the app or device operating system. BlockRoute does not automatically upload these diagnostics for analytics.

How long data is kept

Offline game data remains on your device until you reset your progress in the game, clear the app's data in Android settings or uninstall the app, subject to any Android backup or restore copy.

An online Arena guest profile, including its public rankings, can remain on the Arena service until the profile is deleted. The in-app deletion process removes the related player profile, scores, sessions and associated in-app reports from the online service.

Separate registration security records derived from IP addresses are not directly linked to that deleted profile and are not removed by the in-app account-deletion action. Registrations are counted for rate limiting only over the preceding 24 hours, but the records themselves may remain until administrative cleanup; there is no promise that those records are automatically deleted after 24 hours.

Delete your online Arena profile or request your data

While access to your Arena profile is still available on your device, open Settings or the Arena screen and choose Delete Online Arena Profile to delete that online profile and its associated scores, sessions and reports. Resetting offline game progress is a separate action and does not by itself delete an online profile. If you want both removed, delete the Arena profile before resetting local data.

If you have uninstalled the app, lost access to your Arena profile or need help with access, correction or deletion of information, email info@bssza.co.za with the subject BlockRoute Arena data deletion. Include your Arena username and information that can help us identify the relevant profile. Do not email passwords, private access credentials or identity documents. We may need to verify that you control the account before taking action and will respond with the outcome of the request.

To request deletion after uninstalling the app, use the option below to email our privacy team. Sending a request does not immediately delete an account; we will verify the request before acting.

Children, public usernames and player reports

BlockRoute is a puzzle game and is not specifically designed for young children. The optional Arena allows player-selected public usernames and reports of inappropriate handles, but it does not provide open player-to-player chat. Avoid including contact details or other identifying information in public handles.

Website privacy and changes to this notice

This notice describes the BlockRoute game and optional Arena. Visits to the BSSZA website, including this privacy page, are governed by the general BSSZA privacy policy, which describes website analytics and technical information. Website analytics should not be confused with data collection by the game itself.
